 A Farmer’s Feed
In the past 20 years, ‘trash fish’ are traditionally used by local aquaculture industry as fish food for cultured fish. In year 2005, Mr. Lee You, an aquaculture farmer with close to three decades of experience, realized that trash fish supply would decline due to over-fishing. As such, an alternative solution is needed for the sustainability of fish food for aquaculture as well as to ensure that the aquaculture industry, especially big scale farmers, would not be affected by fish food shortage. With the notion in mind, the founder set up Sun East to source for good quality fish feed as an alternative to trash fish. For an aquaculture farm operator that puts quality first, the search for quality feeds has often been met with problems like season-dependent supply, low nutritional value, inconsistent quality, price fluctuation, unsuitable ingredients for cultured species, among others.
Realizing the lack of quality feeds supply in the market; Sun East decided to develop its own aquafeeds. The result was the introduction of Omega Rich™ – a quality feed that answers the need for consistency in supply, nutrition, safety and affordability.
As the country’s only aquaculture farmer that produces aquafeeds for farmers, Sun East takes its role in contributing to sustainable aquaculture very seriously. This is evident in our commitment to quality.
One apparent aspect of our commitment is the use of quality raw materials. Being an aquaculture farmer ourselves has enabled us to identify exactly what makes the best feeds. By working closely with our suppliers to obtain the most suitable raw materials based on our own balanced formula, we are able to ensure stringent quality control at every stage from materials selection to finished products.

Being an aquaculture farmer ourself has enabled us to fully understand the needs for better quality feeds that delivers good harvest with high nutritional and taste values. From years of intensive R&D, product trials and monitoring on our own farms, we have successfully formulated Omega Rich™ – our patented grower diet specially created by farmer for farmers. One of the apparent advantages of Omega Rich™ is in the fact that it was developed by people with decades of experience in aquaculture farming who themselves are aquaculture farmers. It means we understand exactly what fellow aquaculture farmers need.

Omega Rich™ is a proprietary blend of fish meal, soy protein, fish oil, vitamins and essential minerals. This proprietary diet comes in two specialized formulas for specific growth stages.
Strict measures were integrated to ensure feed quality and safety from ingredients used through to finished products. In order to ensure the suitability and effectiveness of Omega Rich™, we tested it in our own farms and continued to refine our feeds until we are fully satisfied with the result. The process took 3 years before we introduced Omega Rich™ to the market. That went on to show the level of our commitment to quality.
